As I mentioned last Thursday, we spent the previous weekend in Cincinnati and the surrounding area. It wasnt my first time to the area, but Im not exactly an expect on Cincinnati culture, either. That’s what my friend Liza is there for.

The very first time I came to town, she took me to Skyline for Cincinnati chili, she took my to United Dairy Farmers for convenience store items and hand-scooped ice cream, and more importantly, she took me to Goetta Fest.

Goetta (pronounced get-ah) is a Cincinnati specialty. It’s basically delicious sausage mixed with oats and served fried. If you read my blog, you are not surprised to hear that it’s right up my alley. Last week’s trip didn’t fall during the annual Goetta Fest, but we picked up a tube of Cincinnati’s finest at Kroger and fried it up ourselves. Delicious!

I haven’t seen it outside of Cincinnati, but then again, I don’t think my arteries can handle it much more than once every couple of years or so. Already looking forward to the next trip…
