You ever have one of those weekends where everything just falls into place? You check off everything on your to-do list and get to do the fun stuff you want to do? That was this weekend.

It started with pizza night, one of my favorite nights for obvious reasons. Ben and I have been honing our pizza skills for over a year, and we’ve got it figured out, if I do say so myself. It starts with no-kneed pizza dough–I get the recipe here from one of my favorite food blogs, Lottie+Doof. I make a really simple sauce by browning butter with garlic and dried basil or sage, then adding a can of tomato sauce and simmering for 15-20 minutes. After the dough is risen and rolled out, we top it with the sauce, grated whole milk mozzarella, tons of sliced mushrooms, and some good salami. Perfection, in my opinion.

Here I am acting pensive over our delicious pizza

A group of us went out for beers after polishing off two pizzas, and as the DD, I had a great excuse to just drink cucumber dry soda all night. I know it doesn’t sound like the greatest thing in the world, but… it is. If you get a chance to try it, do.

But ok, Saturday was where the weekend really got good. It was a gorgeous sunny day, and I spent the vast majority of it thrifting and crafting up a storm with my girl Kayla. Thrifting and crafting, my two favorite things.  On the thrifting front, we got lots of great fabric, and earlier this week I scored some cool badges that got me thinking.

A very exciting thrifting find–every color ever, and $1.50 for all of it.
Top row: vintage badges; bottom row: some experiments :)

Also, I’ve been making hats. Tons of hats. Well, six hats so far, plus the one Kayla made this weekend. More on that and other exciting stuff later this week!

This is what my living room looks like when projects are happening.

We wrapped up Saturday with some frisbee in the sunshine, followed by the world’s greatest burrito dinner: my homemade giant tortillas, cilantro rice and black beans, pork shoulder, chorizo, my brother’s homemade pico de gallo, cheddar & mozzarella, avocados galore, limes and fresh cilantro–oh, I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.

Sunday we wrapped up our craft projects, I sewed up a pretty little pencil case/cosmetics bag/clutch that is just perfect for springtime, and went for a couple of beautiful long walks. Even discovered a new park in town that makes you feel like you’re deep in the woods for a minute. Lovely.

What did you do this weekend? How’s the weather where you are? Fill me in.
